Jason Kenney is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana and grew up on the waters and bayous of South Louisiana and the Gulf Coast. He received a Bachelor of Science from Louisiana State University and thereafter, earned his Juris Doctorate from Tulane University Law School. During law school, he was an active board member of the Tulane Moot Court, was the Moot Court Junior Trial Champion, and a Senior Trial Competition semi-finalist. Jason also worked as an outdoor writer for eight years and has published over 75 stories in local publications.

Jason has practiced in the area of admiralty and maritime law since his admission to the bar, has argued in many Louisiana state courts, all Louisiana federal courts, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. He has also tried numerous maritime personal injury cases and collision/allision cases to judges and juries in both federal and state courts. He has also been a guest lecturer and presenter in various areas, including the Jones Act, general maritime negligence, maintenance and cure, punitive damages, seaman status, and trial practice to industry groups, companies, and at Lloyd's of London. He is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Louisiana and all Louisiana state courts.
